Government

As a charter township, the Canton Real Estate area is, in essence, an entity within itself. Canton is governed by a board of trustees that consists of seven members, each one elected by the local citizenship.  The fact that Canton is a charter township adds quite a bit of local advantage, as charter townships are not limited to the one million dollar annual operating revenue. Canton actually has a five million dollar limit, leaving the local government considerably more to invest into community improvement and beautification.

History

The original citizenship of Canton was a heart breed, individuals who migrated to the area from New England seeking a new life. They found this as farmers, which eventually led to trade via the results of their daily labors. Today, many of the original settlement structures still stand, a testimony to the willful settlers whose descendents still fill this growing burg.

Community Information

Canton is a very self-reliant community, thus able to offer the real estate shopper many wonderful activities and attractions within the limits of the city itself. On weekends, for those who like a down-home feel, there is the Canton Farmers Market.  For those who like large community events, every year Canton pulls together to host Liberty Fest in June. This is undoubtedly the city's most impressive and all-consuming festival. There are also golf courses, theatres, sports centers, teen centers, coffee houses, and lots of well-funded parks to choose from.

Real Estate

As its own charter township, Canton is constantly growing in size and, as a result, in popularity for those looking to make a move. Every year the community income rises, therefore allowing for massive expansion and the creation of more local businesses. Canton real estate is highly popular for individuals from every walk of life, from the corporate business individual to the average workforce.
