1. Make sure the home is clutter free! In today's market not only is it a price war, it is also a beauty contest so the home that shows the best and has some amazing features is going to sell sooner than a home that is not very well kept. 

2. Take down all your knick knacks. If you have a collection of any sort, it is a good idea to pack those away. Buyers have a hard time seeing a home as theirs if the home is full of knick knacks. 

3. If you have painted the inside of your home with some bright colors, now is the time to tone it down. Paint the home a neutral color and bring in a sense of calm to the rooms. This is much more subtle when buyers are looking at your home and you want them to feel relaxed and not shocked at the colors. Some buyers can't see past the paint either so if you have some rooms with bold colors, you may want to tone it down a bit. 

4. Clean out those closets. Yes, buyers do look in the closets and if they are packed and things might come falling out when they open it, it is a good idea to tighten them up and make them look as spacious as possible.
